Yellowstone Animal Sighting Tally

Here's the animal sighting tally for the past day and a half:

Bison: about 300
Elk: about 25
Mule deer: about 10
Grizzly bear: 1
Moose: 2 (mom and baby)
Pronghorn: 6
Chipmunks: 1
Ground squirrels: 4
Beaver: 1 (adult and one baby in the nest)
Bald eagle: 2
Trumpeter swans: 15
Assorted ducks and geese: 50

It's a stretch, but I'd like to count two wolves - we saw two gray things chasing the pronghorn but couldn't tell what they were. When we stopped the car, the people parked said they were wolves. The pronghorn got away.

And Jeff would like to note that when they climbed a big hill that overlooked Old Faithful, people told them they saw two coyotes, but it's possible that Henry's heavy footedness scared them away before they got to see them. I doubt we'll get a better chance.
